My week of 100% suckage
Viral gastroenteritis...it put my 10 month old son in the hospital for two days last week, my wife in the ER to get 2.5L of fluid for rehydration, and gave me several days of nausea and chills. Fortunately our 3 year old seems to have dodged the bullet.
Now my wife is back at the doc since she's still not better.

What a craptastic Valentine's day this was.

Well, it could have been worse, of course. Still, this is definitely one of the suckier weeks we've had in a loooong time.

1. Sorry to hear about that, man
The fact that it could have been worse does not make it any less sucky. I hope you all get to feeling better soon.

2. When I was 12, I had my appendix out on Valentine's Day...
My mom didn't believe me that I was in pain and thought I was faking. She took me to my grandmother's for the evening while she worked, but I ended up crawling to the phone and calling her to tell her I wasn't better. She took me to the ER, and they told her I had a hot appendix.
What is funny about the whole thing is that the people who were in the OR, the doctor, the surg nurse, and the Anesthesiologist were all the same people who helped deliver me. My mom felt so bad that she didn't believe me. And I love hospitals to this day. I'm such a freak, I know. Nurses are awesome and it shouldn't be a place you want to go, and it's not a place I want to go, but if I have to, I don't think it should be a place to be hated.
I feel your pain. Hope everyone gets better soon.
Duckie

3. I also like hospitals and I love doctors and nurses
I've spent a lot of time in hospitals, unfortunately, due to a mental illness that I have. I guess that has made me appreciate the work that health professionals do.

4. I think nurse's pay should be doubled
I never appreciated their role til a few years ago when some family members were in the hospital.

6. Dropkid loves the doctor's office and hospital
I sometimes have to set my bullshit sensor pretty high to tell if something is minor or actually warrants a viit. She also loves the dentist (hasn't had any fillings yet, so we'll see if she feels that same after that happens). She is now seeing my allergist, and she is completely in love with him, and has him utterly charmed. She charmed him so much that he had her be the patient in a news article and she had her picture in the paper.

7. Wow, that does suck
 for your family. Maybe you can celebrate VD when everyone's better, it'll be a lot easier to get a reservation at least!

9. That's HORRIBLE suckage.
I had food poisoning last week. It took a few days to get over, but I still have gas, etc.

No fun. :(

I hope your wife gets better soon.
