Well to start off I did not know that I should have gotten two single veneers for my two front teeth. The bridge make all those teeth connected so I can see the porcelin between the two front ones and it is bugging me.

So I started taking a sharp steak knife and scraping between the teeth in hopes that I can make the indent deeper.

Anyway, I know I am being shallow and all that but does anyone know about this problem and how to fix it? I just forked over $3,800 to the dentist for this nightmare.

Here is a picture I got off the net. The teeth don't look bad here but you can see that they are connected and not like real teeth. I took a picture of my own teeth with my camera phone but it is too blurry.

EDIT TO ADD: I am obsessed with other people's teeth now. I check out everyone's teeth! It is becoming an obsession.

2. My teeth are really crooked.
You ever see Jewel's wiggly tooth? I have one like that. Never much notice teeth.

Not helpful to you in the least, but I didn't want your post to feel neglected. :)

3. Please don't damage the bridge work.
You'll need it until you can replace it with something more natural looking, if there is such a thing.
You're not being shallow. The outcome is not what you expected. Call your dentist and see what solutions are available.

4. It's probably more noticeable to you than anyone else.
I did not notice the porcelain between the teeth in the pic until you pointed it out. But at least mention it to your dentist and tell him/her you're not happy with it. Better that than trying to fix it yourself and having something go wrong.

5. I have one upper molar that...
sits outside of the jaw line.
No one can see it. It doesn't hurt.
The tooth is healthy. But it drives me
batty just knowing that it is there. No
dentist will remove it and I'm too chicken
to try to knock it out myself.

I think people only really notice real rotten or
missing teeth. Everything else....skates.

10. Aw hfojvt. I took out a loan from my dentist that if I pay it off in 1 year
Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 04:36 PM by Maraya1969
I don't have to pay interest. We'll see if I can do that.

(And when I had the temporary bridge for two weeks I did the same thing because they looked so awful. So I know how you feel)

Can you check with dentist's around your area. I absolutely hate it that dental care is so expensive and so many people can't afford it. It is not even covered by Medicare or Medicaid.

8. It's only noticeable in a photo like the one you posted...
...where I can't help by look at the teeth. I know what you mean about checking out other people's teeth. I have more metal in my mouth than an aircraft carrier.

9. Now they can 'grow' new teeth.
They've done it in mice.
Start with some kind of stem cell and grow a whole tooth.
Dentin, enamel, periodontic ligaments and everything.
Implanted into the mouse's mouth and work just like originals.
I'd like to do that, but probably a few years away and very expensive.

I have a removable upper molars bridge.
Only wear it for eating.

12. my two front teeth are so close together, they appear connected...
In fact, they look sort of like the front teeth in your picture, except that mine seem bigger and more overbitey.

My teeth are completely natural and uncorrected -- just very closely spaced. Lots of people have teeth like that. We're the ones buying all the waxed extra-fine floss.

Since the connector between your teeth isn't really visible unless the photo is scaled up to an enormous size (each tooth appears over an inch wide in the picture on my screen!), I don't think you have anything to worry about. They're very attractive, actually.

(Just my $.02...)
