Stretching is a must... and failure to properly stretch causes injury no matter
what your physical condition.

18. Remember to switch to COLD. I had a horrible back injury like that and was
putting heat on it. Finally I thought about cold and......the pain got a lot better! Cold stops the inflammation which can be the cause of a lot of the pain.

13. Gray, if you can get on a heat pad or
in and out of a warm shower, please do so.
Doing both would really help.

Call your doctor and have him/her prescribe some
muscle relaxants ( Flexeril is good) and pain meds.

You need both right now, since you are SOL with the back.

Believe me, lady- I've been there, done that
Many,many times!

I'm an orthopedic nightmare.

Good luck and get some relief,

23. Crap! Really- try the heat,

a heatpad or a shower, as warm as you can stand it
pelting down on your back, right where it hurts.

I've done the warm/hot shower every night for four days now
and I haven't had to take relaxants/pain meds, yet.

My back has been crappy for over a week, this time around.

I really know what that feels like.

24. Back pain sucks. I pulled something 2.5 years ago, and spent a month recovering.
Get thee to a doctor. Tomorrow. I tried toughing it out for a while before seeing a doc, and that just made things worse.
