We already have two dogs and a bunny. Dogs and bunny will be separated from the kitty. I have studied a lot about FIV+ kitties. Any tips beyond the obvious (check their health and take them to the vet, don't let them outdoors where they could fight with other cats, etc.)?
He is an orange cat and he shall be named Frappuccino.
Good luck with your new kitty! My vet told me that FIV isn't that bad (especially compared to feline leukemia) so as long he doesn't get injured or exposed to anything bad he should live a relatively long healthy life.
DH and I had the name figured out before the cat! I am very excited about this little fellow. I fell in love with him at first sight. Although the rescue group has a lot of other cats available for adoption, I thought about giving this one a good life, in light of his condition. He is also a sweetheart.
