Edited on Thu Feb-22-07 12:06 PM by GenDem
The Hansel and Gretal one

Bewitched Bunny: (1954): I can sum up why this is one of my favorite Bugs Bunny cartoons with one word: "HAWN-sel?" Oh yeah, and the phrase "your mother rides a vacuum cleaner" is pretty good too, especially when spouted by two German kids through a mouthful of chocolate. In this one, Bugs finds himself stumbling into the story of Hansel and Gretel. He manages to help the kids escape, but then must deal with Witch Hazel, voiced by June Foray, a renowned voice actor who also provide the voice of Granny, as well as Rocky in Rocky and Bullwinkle, among several others.

4. The one with the little Indian who hunts him.
He catches Bugs and tries to put him in a big cauldron to cook him. Bugs lowers himself gently into the pot all "ooh!"ing and "aah!"ing, and then starts splashing around like he's in a nice bath. :) I always remember that one when I'm getting into a really hot bath, because I make the same noises.

43. That's a different cartoon
You're thinking of the one in which some super rich dude has his own hunting range in his mansion, and takes along his butler to hunt some big moose with a bow and arrow. But the would-be hunter keeps shooting the butler in the butt with his arrow. The butler faithfully removes it from his butt each time and hands it back, saying "Your arrow, sir". Then the butler finally has had enough and quits, and is flying an airplane away from the mansion when "Deadeye" misfires his arrow once again and hits the plane. The plane crashes, then the butler comes over to the hunter with the arrow, puts the hunter across his lap like a little brat, and starts whapping him on the butt, saying "Your ARROW, sir!"

25. I had a crush on Bugs Bunny...
when I was a kid. Really! I was such a little freak. :D

The men who animated and wrote for Bugs were geniuses. I still marvel at the beauty of the landscapes they created and how funny/clever their dialog was.

One of the best books I have ever read is "Chuck Amuck" by Chuck Jones, which tells his life story and of his time with the Warner Brothers animination unit. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone who loves the classic WB cartoons.

One of my very favorite non-Bugs WB cartoon is with Marc Anthony and Pussyfoot, where Marc Anthony thinks his little kitten friend has been baked into cat-shaped cookies. I remember reading about a screening for that cartoon where grown men were crying in the dark when Marc Anthony was carting around the cookie on his back!

I think I have to watch come of my WB tapes this weekend...

where Bugs finds out that the bounty on rabbits is only 2 cents, be cause rabbits are "very gentle creatures that would never harm anyone". Bugs decides he can be just as ornery as any bear or coyote, and goes on a crime spree that culminates in his sawing off Florida from the rest of the country.
