5. You're so right too
Know how I comfort myself when I'm losing my breakfast, lunch and dinner and my breasts feel like they're going to explode at any moment? As long as my hormones are raging on and I'm having these not so fun symptoms, the baby is okay. Sad but true, these are all signs of a healthy pregnancy and, while I'm a bit miserable at the moment, I'm also very, very happy. back

7. I hear ya, sister.
I've been there. I had it with both pregnancies, but with the second one I was actually throwing up 6 and 7 times A DAY....for 5 weeks!!!! It sucked.

I had a 2 yr old at the time, who would follow me into the toilet as I was retching:
"Mommy, what are you doing?"

Yes, it's rough, but you'll get through it and it's sooooo worth it, in the end.

10. I really don't want to be negative here, but I would give
anything to have that sickness right now! Been trying for over 2 years, and after an ectopic and an early miscarriage, I would welcome any signs of a good pregnancy!!

But I do have friends who are pregnant, and it was all sickness for the first trimester!! Good luck!!

18. Probably so
Since I'm at risk, being over 35 and all, I have to go through genetic testing and amniocentesis, so very little chance I won't find out the sex unless I decide I don't want to know.

I hope you're bitching along with me soon

19. Thanks!! I am hopeful! I had the biochemical preg. a couple of
weeks ago, but the doc was happy that I got pregnant even if it didn't "stick"!!

Are you hoping sort of for any sex in particular? I know I am dying for a girl, but a little boy will keep the last name going. My husband is the last of our name!!

29. Go hang around pregnant friends.
Not kidding-sorta.
I have a circle of about 12 of us who used to work together. ONE of us got pregnant. She proceeded to hug every other one of us at some point in the first trimester of her pregnancy.

We ALL got pregnant within a year. ALL of us.
Weird.

32. I mean, it makes no (supposed) sense, but
I think it could-because I am really into stuff like the Secret. What you focus on manifests; etc. Now; I am sure you have been focusing on it; but try to make sure you are focusing on pregnancy; not the lack of it. Holding a baby or being around pregnancy would definately be a step in the right direction to make it real to you and give you good visualization material.
Hey, it couldn't hurt.
I am going to send you all my fertility vibes. I know how much you want this-I am sure it will happen for you.
Best of luck!!

20. It could be a sinus infection
When I was pregnant, I threw up every day for four months and did not gain any weight. The doc kept telling me it was morning sickness, and I kept telling him, "No, I'm slimy, it's sinus drainage and I have an infection."

After I only gained 6 pounds in 24 weeks, that got their attention and he put me in the hospital. They gave me antibiotic IVs and I could eat actual food again within 24 hours. Simple. I kept arguing with the nurses about the food and threatened to throw a tray across the room b/c they kept giving me salty food and I have high blood pressure!!!

Anyway, me and the baby both got thru it OK, thanks to the hospitalization and to a C section.

26. awwwww - poor thing.
I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but it doesn't necessarily pass after the first trimester, either. With my first one, I had "morning sickness" for about 8 months. Though with my second pregnancy it only lasted the first trimester-ish.

Here's what I did for the "real morning" part: saltines or other soda cracker types and Ginger ale (with a straw) by the bed. BEFORE you get up - just barely raise your head just enough to swallow/drink. Eat some crackers and drink/sip some gingerale. Worked enough so's I could get out of bed and get started. (If you have a partner at home with you it works a lot easier - else you have to set it out it the night before.)

For the first "sick-all-day for 8 months" pregnancy - Coke and Fritos baby. Healthy? No. But it was about the only thing that kept me from being sick. Go figure. (I tried to be OH SO HEALTHY all the time, but well - when you feel like :puke: nearly all day every day for 8 months, you'll try anything! And she turned out okay. She turned 26 in January.)

Hope you feel better soon. The little devils are worth it though. :D

27. Get used to it.
;)

If you aren't puking all the time, the baby will be!
Puke becomes a way of life with a baby, among other things!

Hang in there! You're just getting started.

Hope you feel better soon!

28. The scent of lavender is supposed to help alleviate morning sickness
It helped my DIL tremendously during her last pregnancy. She kept a candle scented with lavender oil on hand, and sniffed at it when needed. She also liked mint and cinnamon scents, but the lavender really helped her the most

From this site:

Scent the air by preparing a mixture of three drops of lavender essential oil and one of peppermint in a diffuser or humidifier.
Place a cool lavender scented compress on your forehead and a warm lavender compress over your rib cage.

Hope you do find some relief somehow!

PS Peppermint, or other mint, tea can be soothing.

34. Sorry this is hitting you so hard....
Glad to hear that all is progressing nicely though.

Didn't have a lick of morning sickness with my first one...kinda felt cheated. LOL. Hope I get it with the next one though...just for the experience.

When I did get queasy though, I swore by Vernor's Ginger Soda...sometimes it was the only thing that would calm my stomach down.
