So, is God your Senior Parter too?
I bought a Buck knife a few days ago. Nice one. Skeletonized stainless frame, single-finger assisted opening (almost but not quite a switch blade :-) ), safety lock, excellent blade lock, pocket clip. Made in USA

While glancing through the little warrenty-registration/company history & info paper that comes in the box, I found out that the Bucks apparantly regard God as their Senior Partner. Even included a quote from the Book of John in there.

I though this was kind of weird, but no more than that. Thoughts?

I was also surprised by the accompanying literature.

13. Oh, there's more going on here than I thought!
"My DU" only shows 3 replies, but that does not show sub-replies...

"Now that you are family, you might want to know a little more about organization. The fantastic growth of Buck Knives, Inc. was no accident. From the beginning, management determined to make God the Senior Partner. In a crisis, the problem was turned over to Him, and He hasn't failed to help us with the answer.

"Each knife must reflect the integrity of management, including our Senior Partner. If sometimes we fail on our end, because we are human, we find it imperative to do our utmost to make it right. Besides being our Senior Partner, He is also our Heavenly Father. It's a great blessing to us to have this security in these troubled times. If any of you are troubled or perplexed and looking for answers, may we invite you to look to Him, for God loves you. 'For God loved the world so much that He gave His only son; so that anybody that believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life'. - John 3:16"

Not sure which Bible they follow, though. I can't find a version with the exact wording as above.

15. They should quote the part
where Jesus tells Peter not to use his sword against the Roman soldier. Hypocrites.

22. I honestly don't think that is a fair assessment!
Edited on Sat Feb-24-07 11:15 PM by Shell Beau
Yeah, maybe of this particular knife co. that is fair, but that is a broad-brushed statement. I use knives but that doesn't make me hypocritical for believing the Bible. And making them is no different than using them is it?

23. Buck knives are great
But the whole God thing in a little creepy to me. I used to buy those cool little Buck walnut-handled single-blade pocket knives as presents for the company folks overseas, but I don't anymore. That xian baggage doesn't go over very well in China and Japan and I don't want to support the Fundies, which the Buck people probably are.

24. I just will have to go all over to Benchmade
I have a Benchmade switchblade that my boss (who must be insane :-) ) gave me for helping him move. It's a totally awesome knife, tactical black, thick, non-slip grips, thick, strong, sharp blade, locks up like a vault. Probably cost $180 (like I said, insane)... and I don't dare carry it in public 'cuz I don't want to spend 90 days in jail being somebody's bitch.

Hence the Buck knife when placing an order with a catalogue company. Impulse purchase, I guess.

Well, if I break the Buck I'll spend the dough on a legal Benchmade.
