Maybe I'm just racist, or an engineering elitist, or a snob...
I'm watching an "Extreme Engineering" about trying to stop the flooding in Venice, and the engineers are having an awful time.

And I keep thinking to myself, and I feel bad about it, but I think it's true, "For something that important, they really shouldn't be using Italian engineers. They should call in German or Japanese or American ones."

But, I suffer from a longstanding bias - from engineering college - against Italians who engineer.

aqueducts ... then I remembered: "Italy didn't even exist until the 1800's." So you're right. Apparently I spent way too many years in Italy... Via Appia? .. sheesh, Appian Way

9. Oddly enough, I've often wondered that. Or at least, something similar.
That is, how much of what would be today called "Italy" has Roman ancestry? By looks, it seems that more British look Roman than Italians do.

5. You know the difference between Heaven and Hell, right?
In Heaven, the cooks are French, the police are English, the engineers are German, the lovers are Italian, and the whole place is organized by the Swiss. In Hell, the cooks are English, the police are German, the engineers are Italian, the lovers are Swiss, and the whole place is organized by the French. :D :hide:

Edit: 6 back to back F1 championships, for both the driver and the manufacturer.

I could go on and on, but these cars are MARVELS of engineering and technology. I would take one anyday over a german, japanese, or an american car.
