I just got e-mailed the tax return for some guy in Utah. It's complete with his

name, address, social security number, and bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of his $3700 refund! :wow:

Well, obviously there was a screw-up somewhere, so I hit Reply and told them what happened. I suggested that they may want to re-check the email address of the recipient!

It's good that I'm an honest person, isn't it? :dilemma:

creepy identity thief! That guy is lucky.

I shudder to think how often that happens. I get faxes all the time intended for GMAC insurance complete with all kinds of personal information. I finally stopped letting them go through because they were chewing up all my ink and paper, and if it doesn't go through enough times, someone is bound to recheck the number.

Good for you for being so honest.

I know that we send a test email out, but NEVER attach the returns when doing the test.
