Is this true about Eddie Murphy? He actually stormed out of the Oscars?
Eddie Murphy angry over Oscar snub

Eddie Murphy stormed out of the Oscars after losing the Best Supporting Actor award, it has been reported.

When Alan Arkin was announced as the winner, the entire downstairs bar erupted into rapturous applause, but a short-tempered Eddie left shortly after with girlfriend Tracey Edmonds.

He snapped: "It's fine. It happens. It's OK."

The 45-year-old's early departure resulted in him missing the performance of his Dreamgirls co-stars Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles.

He also missed Jennifer collecting her Best Supporting Actress prize and her tearful acceptance speech.

Eddie reportedly arrived in an irritable mood, sucking on a lollipop and asking, "How do we know where we're going?" before eventually finding his seat.

2. That's what I read, but Alan Arkin's been around forever and deserves it.

NEVER do shitty films like Norbit ever again. Especially if they are due to be released right when the Academy is casting their ballots.

13. That was so stupid.
There are billboard all over town for that movie.

Academy voters can be snobs.

I'm sorry Eddie lost, I thought he was great in "Dreamgirls".

But I'm also happy for Alan.

4. it's possible
I'm sure he was pretty confident he'd win - most everybody was saying so. I thought he would, too.

But I'm glad Arkin won.

6. actually- he had his day being in some very entertaining movies as well...
but he's obviously been in it for the paycheck, not the "art" or the "craft", since day 1; norbit was a big reminder to oscar voters, just in time.

10. I read where he said that anymore
he wants to do films that his kids can go to see. He said that that was his focus more than the way it used to be. I don't really follow his career (and rarely watch movies) so I don't know how consistent he's been with that but I thought it was a pretty cool thing to say.

15. I heard him say the same thing.
We both remember back in the day his films weren't exactly family-friendly. (Remember watching his concert Raw? I learned some new words that day!)

Anyway, my daughter is now a big fan of his and I feel comfortable w/ her seeing many of his movies. (Mulan? Shrek 1,2 and now 3?) I'm just glad to see a mainstream actor willing to do family movies.

They call that "snapped?"

"Eddie reportedly arrived in an irritable mood, sucking on a lollipop and asking, "How do we know where we're going?" before eventually finding his seat."

What kind of story is this? Sounds like a hit piece.

7. So now being nominated but not winning is a "snub?"
I always thought not being nominated after delivering a helluva performance was a "snub." Times are a-changin'.

8. There's an article in todays LA Times
about the limo drivers.

They were all hanging out at the Hollywood Bowl watching the show on TV. After Eddie lost, his driver was telling another guy ... "Oh, he'll be ok. I'm sad that he lost, but he'll be alright". A few minutes later his cell phone rang and he told the same guy "I gotta go, he wants to leave now".

9. True or not . .
I'm still glad Arkin won it . . . .

Note: I haven't seen Murphey in Dreamgirls yet so I can't comment on his actual performance.. I can just say... if he did take it this bad (And yes I know it's only gossip right now) . . then that's his deal . . I'm still glad to see Arkin get it. . .

12. If you look back on
Alan Arkin's career, he has always taken parts with substance where he actually had to play parts that were different from his own personality. That's what acting is. Eddie Murphy needs a lot more of these types of rolls before anyone will take him seriously as an actor. Doing "stand up" in a movie roll is not really what I would call acting. I was a little disappointed that Jennifer Hudson won for best supporting actress . It was her first movie and the other nominees seem a lot more deserving (although I know it is possible for an actor to do a great job in their first movie). I was very happy that Forrest Whitaker won best actor. He has taken some very deep roles in movies in the past and won this Oscar for a part that took a lot of real talent to pull off.
