One of my favorites is, "Man you guys don't make nearly enough money!"
(Thank you for reminding me of that one)

1. I teach in a university, and the two things some of my family like to say to me are:

"Book smarts are good, but street smarts are more important" and "those that can, do - and those that can't, teach."

Oh wait, those aren't funny at all...

2. actually....

I think it's a hell of harder to teach something and just knowing how to do something. Learning spnaish was hard...but teaching it is a hell of a lot harder!

5. Not very funny, but......

I find it sooooo hilarious that people think we get big bucks and only work 9 months a year.

How many teachers have to find jobs in the summer? And how many more are taking those state-mandated continuing ed. credits (and paying for them themselves)???

The question I do find funny is, "Did you have to go to college to be an art teacher?" The kids ask me that one. It cracks me up.
