Dear guy across the street:
Your drumming isn't getting any better. I know. You practice a lot. It's still bad.

Please consider selling out and taking that office job that would "totally make me scrap my dreams, man."

No, really. Please just think about it. You might be really good at HR. Like, a fuckin' HR Rock Star GOD even.

Summer's coming soon and I like to open my windows then. Just give it some thought.

Cordially,

The bookish woman across the street from you

1. Some of us don't wanna work in an office, man!!!!!
Some of us worked in an office and thought it sucked because the dude in the next cubicle didn't appreciate my AC/DC that I need to rock out to while doin' the Mavis Beacon typin' game and called security and they put all my stuff in a box and threw it on the sidewalk, man and some homeless dude stole my bong and I had to smoke the ganj that I'd hidden in my shoe out of a piece of aluminum foil when I went back to get my Molly Hatchet vinyls.

Jus' sayin'

8. Hahaha...I know you don't. I understand, I really do.
I lived with a musician for 4 years. He worked in an office, then quit to "focus on the band" for like, 3 years, now he's back in the office. It sucks, I know. I'm not particularly a fan myself, frankly,

But, I was just hoping that in my new home, I'd finally left all the banging and caterwauling behind. And now this.

*sigh*

Can't win 'em all, I guess.

(And you do a good Jim Anchower. :D )

3. I hear you

I live on a farm and the closest house is directly across the street. The guy renting it is a drummer. I can hear him practicing at 1:30 in the morning in the winter, windows closed. And my room's in the back of the house. I dread the summer when I'd like to keep the windows open. :(

Fortunately, I know his landlord. And the number to the Sheriff's Department.

4. Is it true that a drummer is a guy
that hangs out with musicians?

9. D'oh! See, that's no fun. I live

in the city, on a pretty busy street. I accept noise. And really, even this isn't that big of a deal--he doesn't really do it all that much. But I was just settling in to read a book and have a glass of wine when he started in, so I was particularly annoyed by it today.

I am a little stunned that it can travel from his closed apartment across a large, main road and into my closed apartment so clearly. I'm sure physics has an explanation for it that I'm not aware of.

1:30 am is just kinda rude. He either assumes nobody can hear it or doesn't care if they can.
