Ok..so...about me

I wanted to introduce myself, but I didn't know how to go about it and when I did figure it out I didn't have enough posts...plus I felt weird about it but since a majority of the posts have to do with Family Guy this must be a pretty shameless place so I'll just go for it.

I'm 22 and finishing up my last semester as an undergrad. I'm studying English and Classical Lit as well as Philosophy and American Studies. I'm a long-time vegetarian and the proud mother of two small rabbits. Tea and wine will always make me smile. I have a legitimate fear of high fructose corn syrup and partially/hydrogenated oils. Haruka and I have known each other since we were youngish. She told me DU was a ton of fun.

I suppose I am preaching to the proverbial choir but politically-speaking I am passionate about:

-animal rights (insofar as not being irresponsible with lives...I am not a militant or anything, although I have a secret affinity for those that are)

-equality for everyone without denying our differences

-a woman's right to choose...not limited to the question of abortion. I think a woman shouldn't be chastised for chosing to be a stay at home mom if that's where she feels she's needed most

-New Orleans and other neglected disasters

I also have two rabbits, although mine are largish, and I also, incredibly, have a fear of high fructose corn syrup and not so much partially hydrogenated oils but definitely trans fats! I'm also an Englishy/American Studies-y type.

My bunnies are on the main page if you want to check them out. They are the adopt-a-rescued-rabbit-month spokesbunnies. I have decided the next rabbit I get will be one of those great big behemoths.

Did you just get them? I got my bunnies through Petfinder.com, too. I don't have any good pics of them, but one is a big steel gray rex/lop mix (he's my baby) and the other is a dwarf/New Zealand mix (so she's an albino, but smaller than the really large ones). My daughter and I have a thing for really big bunnies--we want a Flemish giant someday. Bunnies rule. :loveya:

I've had Ben (gray/white mini rex boy) for about a year and a half. Biscuit (hotot/mini-lop mix) for almost a full year. A flemish giant would be great. I got Ben off of petfinder, he's completely blind and nobody wanted him...He's got a perfect personality so I left him intact. He isn't aggressive or territorial with his markings so I figured what's the point...Especially since I got Biscuit spayed to decrease her chances of ovarian cancer (which is apparently a big problem with female rabbits)

Mine both came to me fixed--the bunny rescue person in Connecticut, where I live, fixes all of the bunnies she rescues, mainly, I think because she is trying to stem the bunny way-overpopulation problem any way she can. Moby (the big gray boy) is a total marshmallow, and Daisy (the white girl) is a little more feisty, but they are totally in lurve and committed to each other for life. It's a beautiful thing.
