Going to Chi town for St. Patrick's Day and we're taking the
Amtrak train!! Do they still turn the Chicago river green??? and I'd like a Shamrock avatar please....kinda like the one Clark2008 has. Thank you.

We have 2, count 'em, 2 St. Patrick's Day Parades here.

They are on different days.

And yes, they still dye the River green.

3. 4, count 'em, 4 parades
You forgot the Edison Park parade (last weekend) and the Elmhurst parade (usually on the same day as the South Side Parade).

6. Forest Park certainly was....
lots of people dressed in green pouring out of the bars on Madison Street. I happened to drive past a couple of hours after the parade. Too cold that day to stand outside or else I might have gone to the parade.
