1. It already happened here in Washington DC...
In fact, we almost lost it completely, until the PBS station decided to revert to its previous all-classical form. Unfortunately, when it did so, it also stopped broadcasting Prairie Home Companion and the only all-encompassing folk show in town. Another PBS station took them up; but the folk show is on from 11pm Saturday to 1am Sunday. :-(

There's no excuse for this in cities that have major symphony orchestras. There just isn't! :(

2. My dear gwbsamoron!
I never liked this commercial station.......

Too damn many ads for my taste.......

Pretentious announcers......

Pieces of works.......

Just icky........IMHO, of course......

Come on over to KUSC! Commercial-free classical music!

91.5 on your FM dial.....

They've already hired some of KMZT's announcers......

And I believe they're trying to incorporate some of the programming as well......

:hi:

3. I know it's not a total replacement, but there are some good streaming
classical stations on the internet. I have an FM transmitter hooked up to my computer, so it broadcasts iTunes to all the radios around my house

4. Maybe if classical musicians would start shaving their heads and going to rehab
they could get some commercial airplay. :sarcasm:
