1. I think I may have been the only teenage girl in the 80s. . .
to think Mike Seaver was a whiny bitch.

All my friends loved him. :puke:

19. Yep. I think that was the first shitty exclusively syndicated sitcom
Edited on Sun Mar-11-07 04:06 PM by Strawman
I don't think it was ever actually on a network originally. Then you started to see more of that like Saved By the Bell etc.

7. This thread is useless without Full House.
Every time I even think about Full House, I commit sepuku. It's murder on my carpets.

9. Has nobody said 'Silver Spoons' yet?

Though, let's face it, 'Growing Pains' is actually worse because it's as normal as they come. 'Silver Spoons', drowning in its gaudy lame trendiness, actually has a more novel premise...

11. Before I clicked on the thread, I thought, "Growing Pains."
But Full House, Silver Spoons, and Small Wonder are up there, too.

13. Growing Pains makes Full House look like All in the Family.
Did anything ever happen on Growing Pains? All of the characters were so boring.

14. Tie between Family Matters and Full House.
Edited on Sun Mar-11-07 11:48 AM by HughBeaumont
Full House sucked beyond belief, but Family Matters (more of a 90s, but released in 1989). . . dear GOD. That whole rotating the show around that stereotype assclown Urkel . . . Shit like this, Full House and Step By Step is greenlighted and runs for 500 seasons, but no one in America gets Police Squad, Sledgehammer or The Young Ones-type humor. I guess cringe-worthy antics by that wacky Urkel (who, until Spongebob Squarepants shat its way on TV, hands-down won the award for Most Painfully UNfunny and Annoying Character of All Time) are what Dumbericans want to see. Over and over. And people wonder why George W Dickhead was elected twice.

18. Urkel was cool!
At least for the first two seasons, but then he turned 18 and the writers took no notice that with a deep voice, he can't do the vocal shtick anymore...

15. I loved the cocaine episode of Growing Pains.
Mullet Seaver Cameron then sermonizes to the viewing audience, with all of the extras staring at you behind him, a PSA: drugs are BAAAAD!

Yeah, drugs are bad, but is the idea to INCREASE experimentation with your Nancy Rea-gone bullshit?

24. Man, I kinda liked Perfect Strangers
Bronson Pinchot's incredibly annoying foreigner schtick aside (granted that's a huge aside), they had some really impressive physical comedy going on in that show. Particularly in the later seasons.

17. What surprised me about Full House,
was that it was on for EIGHT years. That crapfest was on for eight years and now it's in syndication in case you missed your appointment with brain death.
