2. I have to say I think this is senseless and wrong.
I'd feel the same if an artist painted their 1yr old infant from face to toe.

Even though no physical harm may be done to infant or animal, I still don't like it and I'm not impressed with people who would do such a thing for attention and their own entertainment.

3. I've seen those pics before!
I don't know if they're photoshops or the real thing. Some designs are silly, but some are just gorgeous! If the cat stands still for it (big IF, I realize!), and the paint is non-toxic, I don't see the harm. I tend to like stuff like this. Not to take anything away from the natural beauty of the animal, but I like the outrageous, too.

4. I read somewhere that they use vegetable dye so the cat isn't harmed.
I googled and found the answer when I got the pics in an email and was curious if they were real or photoshopped.

5. This has been debunked on Snopes
http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/paintedcats.asp

Although I have to admit, there is some very clever artistry in these.

7. We used to dye our cats with manic panic
It's totally safe, it's basically shortening and food coloring. But what got me was how many people felt bad for our cats for being yellow, blue, etc. So we quit doing it.
