I'm not passing judgment on the merits of the discussion with which I take issue; I am not taking sides with this thread. That is not the purpose of my statement, I apologize if did not make that clear.

I'm simply saying that if one wishes to speak negatively to one person about another, it is probably best to do so in private as opposed to in public, much less in a manner which makes others not previously involved then privvy to the issues or alleged issues.

That's all. Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do here was to start more personal attacks.

Yep. It's been too long.

I moved in to a new place at the end of last month...just woke up on the couch, where I've been sleeping the past three weeks or so, and am off in a short while to pick up my shiny new bedroom set (I've been living out of boxes and bags for years now, being in full refugee/fugitive mode, so this is even better than just a welcome move from couch back to bed). :D

It's out in the desert, in a section of Vegas that's still not developed much (still only about ten minurtes from the Strip), the coolest part beign both the clear views of the mountains behind and a belt of open desert between me and the Strip at night that really sets off the lights of the hotels...I can see the Strip from top to bottom, laid out in a nice row. And I have lots of desert in which to deposit those in this town who seek to stab me in the back... :-)

The bedroom set is a very dark brown lacquer. I was looking for a kind of Asian feel and ideally wanted black lacquer, and I'd basically settled on a platform bed (queen size, which is enough for me -- I have a California King mattress set in storage in California but it kind of feels like the deck of an aircraft carrier when you're alone) with black paint and a very vague Asian look. I missed a couple of nice ones on craigslist but this thing is not a lot more money than the best craigslist possibility and I just fell in love with it -- ran into the store (the only furniture store I went to...I shopped around all of them when I was helping my SIL establish herself here) just before it closed, looked at the type of bed I was thinking of, saw this, and basically bought it on an (informed) impulse. :D

I was going to just need to buy a mattress (and a memory foam topper) but now, because this set is a long, two-shelf headboard with two nightstands (and a big dresser with mirror -- lots of storage room, including in the nightstands, and I am the kind of person who always needs flat surfaces and cubbyholes as provided by the headboard thingy), I need to also buy the boxspring and frame. I'm going to save a little money on the mattress and just buy a very basic one because I'm counting on the topper to do the trick. I decided that I'd splurge a bit on my sleeping arrangements 'cos I sleep so poorly and every little bit helps...I just bought 1200-count Egyptian cotton sheets, too. :D

I've proven further to myself over the past three years that I can sleep anywhere and live anywhere and, now that I've got a little money tucked away and more coming in, it's time to move to a little different mode. :-)
