Have you ever heard anybody call a baby's pacifier a "smoker"?
My wife and I were visiting with her dad's parents the other day, and her grandmother repeatedly referred to our son's pacifier as a "smoker." I tried looking up this usage, and all I could find were articles about smokers using pacifiers as an aid in smoking cessation. I'm assuming it's a central Pennsylvania thing, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Anybody ever heard of this usage?

1. Nope. In our house it's always been "binky" and "Mr. Binks"... although
my son referred to it (in his loudest 18 month old holler) "BBBBBBIIIIIINNNNNNTTTTT"!!!

3. I grew up in Central PA, and never heard that one. "Binky" and "Bippy" were common.

5. We always called them "Nukkers"
Or "Nukkees." That was from the brand name.

7. In the UK, they're called "dummies."
I haven't heard "smokers" before.
