I have to go to Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Monday, I have to go to New York to try to put together a deal that, if I get it done, will earn me a commission of (hold your breath and sit down right here, please) $150,000.00 which is not a typo.

I've have a contract to broker the sale of a company, at a commission of 5% of the sale price. A prospective buyer is flying in from Chicago to look the business over...and you know what the strange part is? I'm NOT nervous.

I guess being oblivious has its merits.

It's the story of my life. I don't know jack shit about being a business broker, but someone called me and said "Sell my company for me, and I'll pay you five percent," and what did I say? "OK, no problem. I'll get going on it."

And I think I may actually get away with it.

These are interesting times, indeed. I promised Mrs R that if the deal goes through, I'll take a month off and we'll do that cross-country trip this summer.
