Girl Horrified To Get Gift Box With Missing Dog's Head
<snip>

Crystal Brown's world was turned upside down a month ago when Chevy, her 4-year-old Australian shepherd mix, didn't come home.

"I told him everything and he never shared any of my secrets," said Crystal, 17, who has had some troubled times in her young life. Chevy was her therapy dog, and she leaned on him for comfort and support.

Two weeks ago, a gift-wrapped box was left at the house where she lives with her grandmother in St. Paul's Rice Street area. Inside the box, Crystal was horrified to find her dog's head.

"This was so cruel," Crystal said Wednesday. "This is one sick, twisted person."

The incident is considered so shocking that the Humane Society of the United States announced Wednesday that it was offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Homicide investigators are looking into the case because of the "implied" terroristic threat, St. Paul Police Sgt. Jim Gray said.

"This was extraordinarily heinous," said Dale Bartlett, the Humane Society's deputy manager for animal cruelty issues. "I deal with hundreds and hundreds of cruelty cases each year. When I read about this case, it took my breath away. It's horrible."

7. The monster who did that needs to be caught.
Anybody who could do that needs to be locked away. x(

I feel so bad for Crystal. You just know that this is going to be a memory that will haunt her for the rest of her life.

10. They shouldn't have to look far.
This wasn't random- it's someone who knows her, had access
to the dog the day it went missing, and is a seriously twisted POS.
That can't be a terribly long list.

I hope the asshole does time for this.

11. What a sick, cruel, perverted bastard
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 10:10 AM by socialdemocrat1981
To do something like that to both the animal in question and the little girl. I'm sorry, it is not in my nature to advocate violence, but I can think of some very appropriate medieval punishments that could be meted out to the monster who did this. I hope every day of his/her life, this sick little twisted imbecile lives a rotten, miserable life.

What a evil, perverted, sick thing to do. That poor little girl will have to live with that memory for the rest of her life. I pray she is receiving lots of hugs, love and support at the moment -no person should have to endure what she has endured.

12. I wish the reward was higher...
You know that every person who knows this lowlife would be clamoring and clawing to turn their ass in first if the reward were...say...$25K. They need to be caught. When we talk about animal abusers who "graduate" to serial killers we're talking about this sort of depravity.

Just a vibe, something about this seems really juvenile. Fear that when the find him/her, it's going to turn out to be a classmate who "thought it'd be funny."

I hope they're still laughing when the judge drops a hard 10 years on them. Sad that I don't know of any jurisdiction where they can be held for life for this.

14. That young lady had better watch out.
I'm thinking her life is in danger. Better get cameras and such. Bet it's someone she knows who acts all friendly like. Whomever did this is a very dangerous stalker if you ask me. Poor gal, what an awful thing.

16. This was her therapy dog - not just her pet
She's clearly been through some fucked up shit. Why does she live with her grandmother? Who knows what kind of phuct up shit this girl was dealing with and to take something from her that means so much - you've got to be a pretty pathetic piece of shit.

17. Can't wait until they find the person responsible.
They will. Nobody does this sort of public thing without, at some point, getting nailed.

Young woman...therapy dog...premeditation...the punishment will at some point fit the crime.
