Help, I'm being beat up by REPUBLICANS! Ahhhhh!

I just got the Joe Liberman handouts I asked his campain for this Monday! Now if the others will come on in I be setting pretty! Save for the Rep. Clubs getting ten tons of stuff donated to then to give away by local businesses. Oh well.

how to out do free popcorn and free T-shirts? :(

It's unconscionable (sp) to be giving out popcorn and T-shirts when people are losing their jobs and school is coming up and people aren't going to be able to buy clothes for their kids.

You put up a box for a school kids drive. Binders, paper, pencils, crayons, etc. Make sure you get friends to put something in every half hour, schedule them in, rotate them, whatever; so it looks very important and dedicated.

Whatever they've got going on, you turn it around and embarrass them with it.

And if you don't think that'll work, let me know and I'll try to think of something else. And what do you mean the locals won't call you back, the local Democratic Party won't call you!!! What about the union? You're on a college campus, isn't there a union of some sort? What about them? And there should be a day care on campus, right? They would probably be on your side? Somebody ought to help you!!!!!

Supporting Lieberman might have been your first mistake.

I recommend a silent but annoying campaign of civil annoyances. Such as:

Placing a large bowl of pretzels at the Repub table. (Be nice and call 911, when the choking begins)

Spreading a rumor that the College Republicans have unpleasant body insects.

Borrowing and photoshopping their posters, replacing key words with their Dubya to English translations.

Put up a flyers: Take their stuff. Still vote Dem. Screw Republicans.


Actual suggestions:

Call the local Democrats and borrow things for free.
Check out college Democrat websites for literature.
Search the campus for progressives. You probably aren't the only who is sick of the Republicans.
Start a website, underground paper, or publicity campaign.
Leave stuff in key locations where people will seriously read what you write - like the inside of bathroom doors.

But the locals won't return my calls and the Campus activity board says we have to play nice! hehe.

I do like the pretzel idea, but I don't know how many would get it. Any Dem pizza purveyors in Joplin? Nothing says love to a student like free pizza.
