What's with the stick figure families on the backs of SUV's?
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 01:54 PM by skygazer
I'm noticing more and more of these - little stick figure mommys and daddys and a bunch of kids and there's even the dog and cat.

No doubt someone will be offended but I find them really stupid looking personally.

edit - this is what they look like (someone's smartass version obviously)

1. You've offended little stick figures everywhere.
Paris Hilton, for instance.

4. Advertising for pedos
Really, I'm a Mom, I'm very proud of my kid, but I don't suffer from the illusion that the poor sap stuck behind my wagon in traffic cares what my kid's name is, that we've got a cat or whatever. Nor, for that matter, do I really want to share that with a stranger.

7. No kidding
I never in my entire life put any kind of sticker on my car until after the 2000 (s)election. That seemed important. Plastering my family in stick figure form all over it does not. :eyes:

8. I'm with you. They creep me out. Especially the ones with
whatever league or team the kid is on with the kid's name and number.

How hard would it be to find out who the kid is and when/where they practice?

I remember years ago I had those child finder stickers on the windows in the kids' rooms; the fire department told me to remove them. They said they check all rooms regardless of the sticker and that it was just advertising which room the child/baby slept it.

That creeped me out for a really long time.

13. And, odds are, in about 3 minutes I'm going to pull into a gas station and
leave said children unattended in this very car...so come on and follow us.

5. I haven't seen them yet...
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 01:46 PM by GloriaSmith
although I imagine they would be far less annoying then the stupid "Brandi is a cheerleader at <insert school name here>" or "Joey plays football at <insert school name here>" stickers. Why spend $20,000+ on a car and then plaster the names of your kids, their hobbies and school information all over it? It's bizarre.

on edit: I think the same thing LeftyMom said up thread when I see these type of stickers...why advertise your kids to the general public anyway? Why make it that easy for predators?

and just think, "Meh. Who cares?" The Ass Family one, though, even though I'm unmarried and childless I'd put that one on my car because it's funny. It'd be a nice poke in the eye to all the fundagelicals where I live. :)

21. I've seen hundreds of them around here over the past year

I have kind of a visceral reaction to them -- not a good one -- but I also think it's stupid...there's already too much information floating around out there and there're a lot of sickos, too.

I'd even prefer the bootleg Calvin decals. Maybe.

Calvin was always far, far deeper than the decals would suggest.

waiting for an alternative lifestyle family to place a MM or FF decal.

I never saw it in the midwest (and I lived there until August of last year). Got here and they are freaking ubiquitous.
