I watched the Rolling Stones in "Gimme Shelter" this weekend 36 years later.
The music sucked, and the Stones looked impossibly weak (and frightened) at Altamount. I don't think they played in tune once during the whole concert.

The last time I saw that movie, I thought it was really cool. What the hell was wrong with my generation? What was wrong with me that I once thought that kind of stuff was great. I must have been high. I think I was high.

It is not a happy circumstance that lead me to watch the movie. My son, a sixth grader, was assigned a school project on the Rolling Stones. Um, how do you explain this shit to a 12 year old?

If there is life after death - not that I think there is - my mother must be somewhere laughing like hell.
