Name some of your favorite side projects.
Here's a tribute to bands that do a one-off album in the midst of their full-time commitments, or to side projects that eventually went full time. Here's a few of my favorites from years past:

1. Lard- featuring Al Jourgenson & Paul Barker of Ministry with Jello Biafra
2. Hater- featured Ben Shepherd & Matt Cameron of Soundgarden and ex-Monster Magnet Guitarist John McBain
3. Desert Sessions- Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, and whoever shows up in the studio.

12. Claypool was also in Sausage,
which, if I recall, was the original Primus lineup.

15. Claypool's had a bunch of side projects...
another good one is Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, which featured Claypool and Brain from Primus, plus Buckethead on guitar and Bernie Worell of P-funk on keyboards.

7. Definitely.
I think Tool is still Maynard's primary band.

8. Yeah, it's just that
other than him, it's the primary band for the rest of the musicians in it compared with the rest of these examples, which are compilations of members from other primary bands. Just unsure of the criteria. And Christ, I should maybe do some work today. I mean good God, look what I'm doing with my self... (no offense to your thread or anything)

9. Govt. Mule
Never sure whether The Mule or The Allman Bros Band is Warren's side project though :)

Same with the Derek Trucks band. Damn that kid can play!

16. Might also be worth mentioning a couple supergroups that never outshined members' solo careers...
for example, The Highwaymen ( Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson) and The Traveling Wilburys (George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison).
