Anyone remember Super Chicken?
I was sitting here reliving my childhood (with the help of my special friend Jose Cuervo Gold Especial) when I remembered one of my favorite cartoons! It just seems so appropriate....

Mild-mannered Henry Cabot Henhaus III is the world's richest chicken. When he drinks the Secret Sauce, (out of a martini glass), he turns into Super Chicken! Although, having no real powers, he felt stronger, and with that he fought evil. Alongside him was his faithful butler, Fred, and they went around solving mysteries. (Like were are the WMD, maybe?)

For those too young to remember, you can learn more here. Make sure you check out the song!

4. It was funny
It was shown as part of the "George of the Jungle" show. It was funny to see him fly around fighting "evil-doers" with his super powers.... Except he had no superpowers...he only thought he did! Oh God..is this art imitating life, or what?

I remember it for its theme song! Will check out that web site.

Now, do you remember the radio show "Chicken Man"?

3. Oooh, not the same one! I remember a truly glorious spoof
radio show.

In 1968 it was on NPR? for 5-10 minutes during lunchtime. It was about a shoe clerk who was "The Wonderful White Winged Weekend Warrior" who wore a chicken suit that he was always having trouble getting zipped up.

He fought "Crime and/or Evil on Weekends".

I loved the show. Kind of a British humor kind of thing, maybe Monty Python.

12. When I was stationed in Germany
in the 70's, Chickenman would come on at 0720 on the Armed Forces Network, Germany wide all work would stop to listen to the show. When I returned in the late80's Chickenman was nomore. I missed him.

7. I loved Super Chicken
That is still one of my favorite cartoons. They did show it on tv a few years ago. Maybe on Cartoon Network? But as soon as it appeared, it disappeared.

13. WOW!
I always crack my wife up by singing the "Superchicken" song to her!

We mentioned this to our church organist & he played a few bars during Holy Communion at our wedding Mass. Probably the only time a cartoon theme was played in Church!:bounce:

My son (3 years old) loves the tapes of the old "Geprge of the Jungle" cartoons, but they're wearing out. If anybody could tell me where to get more here in Maine I'd be eternally greatful! :loveya:

14. You might try Half.com
although at the moment, all they have is the live-action Brendan Fraser movie. Excuse me, that's half.ebay.com (Now there's a solid common-sense name!).

Many thanks to both undisclosedlocation & librechik. I'll try them. If you are parents, you know that a disappointed 3 year old is not a pretty sight. Almost as sad as a president with a mental age of 3!
