That's it. I'm deleting some myspace friends.
I know lines like, "I'm really focusing on my career right now" and "I'm taking a break from dating" are complete bullshit, but I don't need to be reminded that its bullshit when they post on their myspace blog about the new guy their dating after I got turned down. I'm not sure why I didn't do this a long time ago.

1. I'd "add" you as a friend...
But, you know... I have a lot going on and stuff.

5. It's not you. You're a great guy! I just don't think I am in a position to maintain that kind of
thing at this point in my life.

We're cool, right?

6. oh yeah
we can hang out and be friends...because... you know...I'm into embarrassing myself. But I'm sure you'll reconsider down the road when things change, right? ;)

8. Of course! I'll get drunk and tease you mercilessly when I need attention
and validation; you'll shower me with it.

Just like it should be. ;)

9. Have we met?

You sound like someone I knew very well about 5 years ago. I'm pretty sure she's dating an abusive drug addict right now, as usual. You know, someone much more appealing than me.

It happens to the best of us.

12. Have fun and laugh about it. Their loss. No good comes from cynicism.
Believe in the goodness of people.

Here, this made me smile. Is that GI Joe? He looks old.

13. I think
I passed cynicism a while ago. I'm laughing about it but I'm also not bothering anymore. Anyway, deleting some of the friends list is part of changing that. Even if they're interesting women I might want to keep in touch with about political events, its not worth it.

dammit, I must know before I go to bed.

Yes, out with the old. No room in life for manipulative people like that.

Goodnight and good luck! :) :hi:

16. Ummm, a friend is a friend.
Not a lover. I know there are some friends we view with something more than a casual interest, but perhaps you aren't being completely... fair.

17. umm...
I think you're reading a lot into things. I was never good friends with any of these women. Why should I be reminded of being turned down and allow myself to feel worse, when its much easier to delete them from my friends list and no longer see their blogs? I'm under no obligation to be anyones friend.
