sis has the "big" surgery coming up on Tuesday
the ongoing saga of my sister getting her leg/foot back. She fell off a ladder last May and hasn't walked since. Both of the bones in the lower leg were broken in half, and the ankle shattered into so may pieces that the doctor worried that it may never go back together. They almost amputated the day of the accident.

It's a seemingly neverending tale of doctors that can't agree, massive bone infections, and the VA not being willing to pay for much.

Anway, on Tuesday, they're going to begin reconstruction in earnest. They'll take bone from her hip to do grafting. It's a 3 hour surgery. It will be very invasive and very painful.

All the same, I'm filled with anticipation and excitement for her. She's going to get her foot back this year. She's always been a very active person and not being able to get around has been very difficult for her.

For the record, this is what her leg looks like right now:

7. All the best to her!
I know it will be a painful road, but the end results should well justify it!
