Taxes.

not using the crazy lady accountant this year (cause she really IS crazy). She hadn't filed our returns since 2003 (finally did last year) even though we paid every year (hello! OVERpaid and FINALLY got our refund(s) last year).

using Turbo-Tax for small businesses online this year. Took 2 hours to enter depreciable assests and apparently somthing happened in 2002 where I have to declare if I took the 'special discount' for assets up to 30%.

started at 9:00 am and quit at 3:00pm. STILL not done. waiting on crazy lady accountant to call me back and advise.

I started on my state yesterday and gave up after about an hour. NC is so freaking hard...I don't know why they have to make it so complicated. Federal is a breeze of course but state is always a nightmare and I am probably going to end up owing even though I got a refund from state.

you can always file an ammendment later... Presuming you would just like to finish the damn thing.

I didn't like the answer I got on state so I'm doing it again tomorrow. It looks like I'm gonna get a refund from fed and have to hand it right over to state. NC sucks.

worked part of the year in NC. He was trying to explain how complicated his taxes were this year - I thought it was just because of two states, but maybe it was just the fact of NC!

Taxes suck. We need a law that says "The government tax code shall be understandable and doable by a 7th grader. An American 7th grader, too, not one of those smart European or Japanese 7th graders."

I think it's fucking ridiculous that the one thing we are all REQUIRED to do is so full of loopholes, caveats, bizarrities, exclusions, inclusions, and other bullshits (mostly to benefit the tax-hiding rich fuckers) that it takes a goddamn specialist to do it.

When I bought my place last June, I'm hearing about how I'll be getting all this money back from the Fed. I OWE $750! :grr:.
