Man BBQ's ex-girlfriend
Neighbors: Grills Burned for 2 Days
By MONICA RHOR, Associated Press Writer
Sunday, March 25, 2007

(03-25) 14:52 PDT HOUSTON (AP) --
For at least two days, neighbors at a city apartment complex noticed an acrid aroma, black smoke and leaping flames coming from two barbecue grills on the balcony of a second-floor apartment.
What, neighbors at the Red Oak Place apartments wondered, was going on in the unit where 27-year-old Timothy Wayne Shepherd lived? What was he burning at all hours, for days at a time?
The answer turned their stomachs.
According to law enforcement officials, Shepherd dismembered, and then burned the body of his former girlfriend, Tynesha Stewart, a 19-year-old Texas A&M University student. Nothing remains of Stewart's body, Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas said at a press conference Saturday.
"I just don't know what to think about it," said Louis Evans, whose balcony faces Shepherd's in the quiet tree-lined enclave in northern Houston. "I thought he was a nice normal person. I guess you never know what your neighbors are doing."
Authorities said Shepherd has confessed to strangling and dismembering Stewart, a college freshman who was home on spring break, because he was angry that she had started a new relationship.
Officials first thought Shepherd had disposed of her remains in a large commercial trash bin that had since been emptied, launching an intense debate in the area about whether the Sheriff's Department should conduct a massive and expensive search of area landfills for Stewart's remains.

1. Ugh. Local news is all over it. I can't even fathom doing that to an
animal (well, chicken and steaks that are prepared), nevermind a human. He's on a suicide watch; I say let him 'have at it'.

2. In what part of town did this happen?

I couldn't tell from the article. "Tree-lined enclave in northern Houston" is descriptive of pretty much every development there.

8. ok I couldn't help myself
Thomas, who called on local media to give the Stewart family privacy, said Timothy Wayne Shepherd burned Stewart's body in two barbecue grills on his patio at his apartment in the 17700 block of Red Oak in northwest Harris County.

16. "Tree-lined" is usually code for "mostly-white suburb"
Poor, inner city areas often have more and older trees than newer developments, but you'll never hear them called "tree-lined" in the press.

32. That is precisely my point. "How could this happen in a quiet tree-lined area?" they always say.
Especially if the perpetrators are any sort of ethnic minority.

Proving the point that "tree-lined" is racial code.

There's a big difference you know.

Penalties for NC-style BBQ (with red sauce and hush puppies) are much less severe. :evilfrown:

http://web.archive.org/web/20021003203611/ghg.ecn.purdue.edu/~ghg/

George Goble, the man who perfected the art of getting a Weber barbeque grill lit and ready to cook in three seconds with liquid oxygen, mentioned that this was the perfect way to dispose of a body - the heat of combustion accelerated with LOX is hotter than the surface of the sun, and will even make those pesky bones vaporize.

if it actually leads to a discussion of violence against women...not that it likely will. The MSM will just use it as another distraction instead of using it as a launching point to talk about domestic violence as a serious issue. *sigh*

Brazilian convicted of frying husband

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) — A Brazilian housewife was convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison Friday for killing her husband, chopping his body into small pieces and frying it. Rosanita Nery dos Santos, 52, drugged her husband in his sleep, then stabbed him to death two years ago in Salvador, about 900 miles northeast of Sao Paulo, said police spokesman Idmar Bonfim.

She then hacked Jose Raimundo Soares dos Santos' body into more than 100 pieces, which she boiled and fried before hiding in plastic bags beneath a staircase in her house, Bonfim said. He said police discovered the body parts after receiving an anonymous phone call................more

29. We had a terrible tragedy here a few weeks ago
involving an (for lack of a better word) intergenerational couple. A 19 YO woman had taken up with a 60 YO man. I had spoken to both of these people on numerous occasions at the counter of a local family restaurant. She was just a tiny little gal, probably only 90 pounds with her school bag and just cute as a baby bunny. He wasn’t a big man (180 pounds) and had had a hip replaced, but he was a gymnast as a young man and moved around on a roof like a mountain goat.

I can only assume that she thought that he was nice because he bought her liquor, was her personal taxi after she lost her license for a DUI conviction, and spent considerable money wining and dining her. Her parents had tried to keep them apart, but were unable even after moving to another city (she lived with her parents while attending college.)

This situation continued until she turned 21 in mid February and told him that she wanted to start dating other men.

The authorities were called to a vehicle fire and when they arrived found his car completely engulfed in flames and the building that he lived in (an old warehouse) on fire. Because of metal doors, piles of junk, and lexan windows the firemen were unable to gain access to the building before it was fully engulfed. Once the fire was put out, the authorities recovered both bodies. Her body with two bullet holes in the head and his with a single bullet hole in the head.

I’m sure that her father wishes that he had killed the SOB when he found out about the relationship. If he had, he’d be in prison, but his daughter would still be alive. Life can be very unfair.

Regards, Mugu
