Does anyone remember the time we could change our usernames and still keep the post count?
Did you change yours? what was it before?

3. I kinda wish I'd changed mine.
Before the username amnesty, I'd never been to any meetups or met so many DUers in person. Since then, I've been subject to the amusing, if slightly painful, spectacle of people trying to pronounce my username, which sometimes makes me wish I'd changed it to, oh, I dunno, actual words or something.

OK, found it:

So I guess "Asthmatic E. O. G." would be the way to pronounce it, though 4 years ago when I registered I never expected it to be pronounced. :shrug:

17. Yeah, I've heard there's been some wagering going on about that.
Back when southlandshari was a Lounge moderator, she tipped me off that there was some betting about my handle going on in the mod forum. I had to laugh. :D

29. Our mayor refers to me, apparently when I'm around and when I'm not
as "the radical reverend". I think that would make a good username. radicalreverend, or maybe just radrev.

but I wasn't a member then. I wish I could change mine without losing the date I became a member. The post count really isn't an issue with me, obviously and it's also obvious why I'd like to change it.

I remember Bertha's old name. I liked it but I think she changed it after the amnesty and had to start her post count over.

13. Right after the 04 debacle
I changed my name. I was going to do it anyway, even posted about it then the next day they announced the amnesty and I jumped on it, glad I did too.

But, I didn't change my user name... though, now that I'm 40 and have been on DU for 3 1/2 years, maybe I should be OldJeffCT?

And, if anybody did change their user name on here, I don't remember it. I know people did, but I didn't keep track of it all.

20. When I'm at work, I turn off sig lines, pics & avatars
that way, I don't have pictures popping up all the time at possibly inopportune moments.

I had meant "old" more because I've been on DU since October of 2003, so I'm not really a newbie anymore - though, I'm pretty sure I'm still fairly anonymous.

21. We joined about the same time (Mayish of 2003 I think)
And I remember you....I may change my name if amnesty is given again in 2008...too many people know it's "me" posting and give Mr. Debi shit about my posts x(

so, I don't have to worry about her getting grief from people about me posting here.

I don't think I have given her too much to get grief about, either, other than the occasional drooling over some of the lovely women of DU...

26. I've had the same user name from Day 1.
Never really felt inclined to change it, even during the post-count amnesty. I guess the identity I've created here means more to me than the post-count.
