American Idol fans: Can Sanjaya possibly top last week's performance in terms of suckiness?
The odds say no but it could all depend on which 90's song he opts to perform today.

1. I think he'll do better w/ a 90s song
you know, when he auditioned, he wasn't that bad of a singer.

I guess "live" performance seems to be his drawback. :silly:

2. Oh cut it out, he was great!
Call me crazy but I enjoyed his performance. I'm with Randy, I was like, :wow:, shocked. Very unexpected and uninhibited, i.e., very rock n roll. :-)

I'm pulling for him -- not to win the competition but to make it down the line. I think he has a ton of natural, albeit undeveloped talent.

4. I enjoyed the performance but it was bad (in an endearingly entertaining way)
As TWOP said, it was the closest thing to a punk rock moment American Idol will ever see.

6. He just doesn't have
a big enough voice for a song like that. It was way out of his league.

He's young. He doesn't have the vocal maturity he will find as he becomes a man.

9. I liked 90's grunge.
Big Nirvana fan, here. However, Nirvana songs are not exactly American Idol material.

17. almost every decade
of the last century had great music.

I'd rather hear hits of the 20s over the 90s.

18. Sanjaya and popular music - nonononono
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 10:25 AM by dropkickpa
I think he would be great in musical theater, though. *edited to add - due, in part, to the large amount of time spent on vocal training and actual practice.

I just don't like his voice with most of the songs he's dome, it's very "wispy" to me.

19. The Stern Effect - Vote for the Worst!
I get a kick out of people who vote for Sanjaya because they want to mess with the show. I've never watched an episode, but after hearing about votefortheworst.com on the Howard Stern show, I called in a few times to vote for Sanjaya last week. As long as I am home tonight, I will probably do the same again.

20. The truly bad artist
always finds a way to make him or herself even worse. Sanjaya has that kind of talent
