Poll question: What is the name of the game?
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 09:14 PM by Left Is Write
And where are you from?

I am from Minnesota. In Minnesota, we play "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck." Yes, I was inspired to do this poll by the thread about Gray's Fucking Duck.

It seems that everywhere else around the US, people play "Duck, Duck, Goose." In fact, they look at me as if I've turned plaid and grown two more heads when I suggest that the game is called, "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck."

What say you DUers?

16. I'm glad I grew up where I did.
I've been in Idaho for six years (moved here at age 34), and I've been striving to spread around as much Minnesota culture as possible among the Idahoans. :D

21. I haven't lived in the North Dakota/Minnesota area since 1998
and I miss so many things about it. I've lived all over since then and used to get teased about my "Fargo" accent. Apparently I have mostly lost it but my husband says when I talk on the phone with my mom it comes back. I miss lefse and Old Dutch potato chips and Gedney pickles ("it's a Minnesota pickle!" -- I forget the rest of the jingle). I did find lefse once in Colorado but it was terrible. Yuck!

It still sounds strange and foreign to me.

Rape the queen
The fatal mistake in your cradle
Can't shake the dreams of
Fire inside of your phonograph
Battered with gas
And give you room to breathe
Through an adequate mask
Everybody in front
Let me see ya pumpin' ya fists
If you up in the back room
When you rockin' with this
Come on
Keepin' ya speaker knockin'
Jumpin' bangin' bumpin' blazin'
Hot
Callin' all freaks (all freaks)
Callin' all freaks now
Yo yo
Callin' all freaks (all freaks)
Callin' all freaks now

that's right

callin' all freaks

Get em up in the back room
Get em up in the back room
I said get em up in the back room

35. Actually, when we were kids we used to play
"Duck, duck, and if you smack me in the head again kid I'll punch your lights out."

The geese never had a chance.
