"You know what I hate about this town? All the damn vampires!"
From "The Lost Boys", 1987.

Why didn't that become a bigger catch phrase? It had all the trappings of a deliberate catch-phrase marketing ploy.

1. That is so funny!
There's an homage to this in the last season of Buffy: Amy Mann says something like, "I hate playing vampire towns."

4. ...and Amy...
Was the only member of a real group who ever got dialogue...."Man, I hate playing vampire towns."...yup. I said "real group" because of course Oz and Devon got dialogue...Dingoes Ate My Baby wasn't real...the band behind them, Four Star Mary was real but Dingoes were not.

9. Have you gotten
Joss' Season eight comic yet? He is doing a whole season and it is canon, according to Joss. The first one is out. The second will be April 4th. The season will have up to 30 "episodes"/issues.

14. My SO just got home
So I will PM you some good spoilers tomorrow. Also, there are two covers...if you can't get both, get the one with Buffy and the monster because it's only 25% of the distribution and so will be worth more.

My SO doesn't like being a computer "widow" is why I have to wait until tomorrow...but I promise...good spoilers.

I will leave you with this...because of something I will tell you about tomorrow, Dawn is now gigantic and yet, same sister problems, so Dawn is telling Buffy:

Dawn: I could squash you like a flea.
Buffy: Your butt looks big in those giant pants.

More tomorrow...

hee...

3. I recently bought that movie for my kids.
Two 13 year-olds and two 11 year-olds. They absolutely love it. I have the best excuse to buy all the cool 80s movies. I bought Wargames last weekend. The kids could not get over the "technology" in that movie. Like something out of the dark ages. It was hilarious.

8. You did the right thing by calling us. Does your brother sleep a lot?

Sam Emerson: Yeah, all day.
Alan Frog: Does the sunlight freak him out?
Sam Emerson: Uh, he wears sunglasses in the house.
Edgar Frog: Bad breath, long fingernails?
Sam Emerson: Yeah, his fingernails are a little bit longer, um, he always had bad breath, though.
Alan Frog: He's a vampire all right.
Edgar Frog: All right, here's what you do: get yourself a good sharp stake and drive it right through his heart.
Sam Emerson: I can't do that; he's my brother.
Alan Frog: OK, we'll come over and do it for you.
Sam Emerson: No!
Edgar Frog: You'd better get yourself a garlic T-shirt, buddy, or it's your funeral.

16. So, is there any sort of connection between Santa Cruz and vampires?
I thought it an odd place to 'be full of vampires' in the movie. You would think they would be way off in the mountains in castles.

17. Well, the real estate prices around here do suck you dry! LOL. Does that count?
Seriously, I think the producers chose SC b/c they wanted to film a vampire story in a unique way by setting it in a tourist beach town. I rememember being a college student at the time when the call went out for extras. That would've been a fun gig. Oh well.

It's a cute movie.

:hi:
