'Planet Earth' on Discovery HD Theater
'Deserts' is tonight's second installment. I caught 'Ice Worlds' earlier... the polar bear segment was agonizing. 55 inches of high-def intensity and clarity, narrated by Sigourney Weaver. I have loved nature programs since I can remember - back when 'Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom' and National Geographic defined nature programming for a whole generation. This Discovery series is the pinnacle.

Although National Geographic has a high-def channel in the works... I hope DirecTV doesn't screw us on that one.

If you get a chance to view this series, treat yourself.

2. BBC Production.
I'm watching it on a 40" screen. Pretty fascinating. Richard Attenborough was the original narrator.

3. I cannot believe they got Ms. Weaver to voice over Sir David Attenborough, the creator.

11. Insulting, isn't it?
I mean, the gall to do that? It's not like he's speaking African click-talk.

5. Breathtaking.

Though I did feel cheated on the second episode about the North & South Poles. Most of it was a re-hash of "March of the Penguins." Still, amazing camera work.

7. I'd watch it in B&W, with rabbit ears
(Just like I watched 'Wild Kingdom' as a kid)

But the geek in me loves the full color spectacle I now get, lol.

10. Sunday nights couch party
We're watching all the episodes!
Commercials made me totally stop watching tv, all the ones last night almost sent me off the edge, but I'll wait through them for this show. We have a projecter so we're watching it blown up huge
