Funny story about the scout outing to the Senior Home today.
My daughter's scout troop paid a visit to one of the local Senior Homes today. They delivered Easter cards and cookies to the residents. Apparently it was also "sing along" day. So the girls got to sing along with the Seniors (which was very cute).

The Senior Center also set up stations where first the scouts, then the residents could fill up Easter baskets. The girls got done filling up their baskets (which they got to take home with them (!)) Then the Seniors who wanted to fill up a basket for themselves, did. Except for one of the women. The girls had gone to go sing some more, and this woman was snitching candy from the girls' baskets.

It was so cute.

1. That doesn't sound very cute to me...
She was taking the girls' candy? When there was already some for her?

Or am I missing the sarcasm smiley?

Great story otherwise!

Hope you liked the card! I got the notification....

2. I actually thought it was funny.
There was a table full of candy and baskets.

I think she may have had Alzheimers or the like. So I did not think it was a terrible thing (and the girls got PLENTY of candy even after it had been snitched on).

3. I hadn't thought of it that way...
Besides, the story might lose something in translation!

:hi:

I work in a retirement center with a nursing home. Many of the residents have dementia of some sort and that would be not be considered unusual behaviour. Some of them can be quite the little pack rats!

Happy Birthday, BTW.

4. This is one of the great things about scouting!
good things that many of these kids would not do otherwise, they do as part of this great group. I have been associated with the cub and boy scouts and think this stuff is very important for the kids.

BTW, if my boy scouts found that women snitching candy from their basket, they would have tied her up with bed sheets in some of the knots they learned and then go on to sing. LOL
