The RetroLounge Daily Poem Thread (Sun 4/7/07)

Patience

A wind comes from the north
Blowing little flocks of birds
Like spray across the town,
And a train, roaring forth,
Rushes stampeding down
With cries and flying curds
Of steam, out of the darkening north.

Whither I turn and set
Like a needle steadfastly,
Waiting ever to get
The news that she is free;
But ever fixed, as yet,
To the lode of her agony.

Ah, I remember this one!

I think he's talking about his mom, who was dying...

It is so damn beautiful.......

I had a book of his poetry, and now I cannot find it...

It was full of the most amazing poetry I've ever read, damn it...

It irks me that the book is gone, and most likely is out of print too...

BTW, did you see my poem?
