5. Yes I'm fully aware of what it is
Hence the :puke:
I dislike sheep meat in any way shape or form. Haggis, for me, is the 'apitomy' of eeewwwww :puke: My Grandfather liked it.
Boiled thistles might be more to my liking though:-)

11. Wow, didn't expect to see this here...anyhow:
My prof made a reference to the line...those of us over 25 or so laughed, but the youngest in our class had no idea what he was talking about.

The trend doesn't seem to carry over to DU -- there's plenty of people in both age groups who knew of the phrase, and plenty who didn't. (The SNL sketch was from 1994, which would make my youngest classmates between 10-12 and thus probably not watching SNL. I wanted to find out whether that divide made sense here too -- it doesn't.)

13. ah
but I've NEVER watched SNL regularly, and I was born in 85. I think reruns have prolonged a lot of catchphrases

15. I have the first one on tape
September 1990, when Kyle MacLachan was the guest host (back when 'Twin Peaks' was in its prime). It still holds up well! :D

12. Born before 1982 and recognized the phrase from its original context.
I even "heard" it as I read it.

16. Scottish people have never heard it before....
I had it on a tee shirt that I wore to a Scottish festival
here in Michigan. The Scots from "hame" LOVED it!

I had my picture taken with so many people I felt like a
celebrity!

17. The phrase was vaguely familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.
I was born w-a-y before 1982 and quit watching SNL regularly around the time the original Not Ready for Prime Time Players left. It just wasn't the same.

20. We are always telling our supervisor Scottie....
If it's not Scottie, it's crap. I still can't tell if he gets it or not.
I will also sing Scottie Doesn't Know from Eurotrip, the chorus not the naughty bits, to him occasionally.
