***A Poem for Spring***
My entry to the Spring edition of DU's online magazine, The Necessary Language...

The timid and tender

Greens of spring

Fearful of winter’s strike

So new on the trees

Backlit by the sun

Pale and shimmering

In the hesitant light

So cautiously

Growing day by day,

Soon they will be

The brassy overheated

Greens of high summer

Their virginity lost

In the sun’s harsh light

2. My dear wildhorses!
Sweetie......I'm not trying to be sexy here....

These are ideas I've had percolating for a very long time...

And now I have a voice for them....

Thanks...

I did kind of think you might be thinking along those lines....

At least this one isn't weird and sad like last weeks'!

Who'd a thunk it?

CaPeggy can write about happier things!

Glad you like it! :loveya:

10. My dear crim son...
Ah....thank you!

And this one didn't spring out of me the way the 'weird' one did...

I'd made some notes in the car one day driving home...

And then I forgot them!

Until yesterday...

I dug them out, and started writing!

With this result.

I showed it to my husband, and he pointed out some weak places...

So I edited those out....and he said, wow!

So there you have it, sweetie...

but can you send some of that spring weather our way?

We're in the midst of a winter storm here...

13. I just slipped the ice here
In Nova Scotia Canada
And I btoke my clavicle and a rib

I'm in a sling
F*uck spring

Does that rhyme?

PS Does anyone have Chaucer's (circa 1450) poem about spring and the cuckoo, I Tried Googling it but couldn' find it.
It starts with "Summer is icumen in, lhudly sing cuckoo.."
I lost my old poetry book.

14. Your little poem has an interesting rhythm...
I'm sorry about your clavicle and rib...

Those really hurt!

I don't have an anthology that has that Chaucer poem in it...
