Father, I removed the tag from a new pillow last night, under penalty of law. There were no mitigating circumstances (except that the tag was scratchy) and I have no excuse. It was an impulsive action on my part.

And yesterday I went through the "10 Items Or Less Express" line with 11 items. But one 'item' was 2 tomatoes, so I feel I was possibly within the spirit of the law, if not the letter. Do tomatoes count as "one item" or do you count them separately? The grocery store posts no guidelines on this.

And just this morning I passed a stalled car in a "No Passing Zone" although I could see quite well in all directions and there was no other traffic besides my vehicle and the stalled one. Aren't we allowed some reasonable discretion in cases like this?
