Where did I go wrong
I have been listening to this song over and over again tonight. It's by The Frey. We're the adults here. And we are doing a really piss poor job on taking care of our kids. We're letting our kids die in a stupid war, not taking care of them on college campuses, and really not giving a shit if they find a job or not once they get out of high school. Lyrics below are about a friend, but I look at as a commentary on how shitty a job we are doing trying to raise the next generation. We all need to buck up and start taking control of this country and its children. We are all responsible for what happens to the kids and we need to start standing up and saying "I care."

Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it’s just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you’ve told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you’ve followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he’ll say he’s just not the same
And you’ll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life
How to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

1. .....

I know how you feel.....

the war??, yeah I can see how you single that out
but the college, NOONE could have stopped this. I believe that
even with intervention and therapy he would have done this,
he was to far gone. Unless he was put away, there was no
stopping him.

BUT I know how you feel. My daughter just graduated from college in January.
Now I have no kids in any schools and only have to worry about everyday crap.
Like that is any better.........

 :pals:
