How long have you known your BEST friend?

Kenny and I just had our birthdays a couple days apart. Both 43. I've known him since I was 5.

We were both in college. We were lovers. THAT didn't work. And became best friends. She once told me, "Jerry(her husband) has my heart, you have my soul." She died Feb 24th of ovarian cancer. I miss her more as each day passes.

Im all choked up now. Lucky you have a pug to love you. I have one and they are the sweetest, silliest lil friends. I'm glad for you that the two of ou found a way to be in eachothers lives even though it didn't work romantically. You're very lucky to have figured that out.

We were each other's 1st boyfriend/girlfriend but now we're each other's brother/sister.

I met Michelle literally the day my family moved to Pittsburgh and we've been great friends since (ok, we had some of the usual adolecsent spats and fist-fights).

We're growing a little apart, though, due in part to her increasing fundyness and the fact that I just cannot stand to be around the majority of her family anymore (fundy wanna be conservo butt heads, her uncle actually told me I'd be grateful he had a large weapons stash when the terra-ists come to Pittsburgh. I laughed in his face). It's pretty sad, really.

and have been married for 17 of those 25.

Brian is the best friend that I'm not married to and the only person I've known longer than my wife. We met in Boy Scouts when we were 13 and have been hiking, climbing, camping together ever since.
Last October in Death Valley

So 38 years

We were best friends then; best friends now.

We're 20 months apart in age (she's the younger one), and I remember when she was learning to walk. We have so many silly sayings we made up from when we were tiny, and we still say them and still crack up.

Met the summer before kindergarten. I've known my best friend from college for 29 years and my best post-college friend for 16 years. I tend to hang on to my friends....:-)

Though we fell out of touch for 11 years (and 4 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days, as he tells it!), and only in recent years resumed our friendship.

i count my seester as my best friend, so nearly 23 years. if you go outside my family, 10 years, complete with the teenage girl drama and strife

It was her birthday yesterday -- we're both 48. I still consider her my best friend.

I went to College he became a 3rd generation Marine (2 1/2 tours of 'Nam).

I'm teaching today; he's a software genius and a millionaire.

We go to 34 Phillies games evey Summer.

I met Cheryl in 1979, she is 1 year younger than I.

We were introduced to one another by a mutual friend and started dating. We were compatible on every level except sex. I have a tendancy to be rather wild and uninhibited, but he was not. I got bored and ended the relationship but I couldn't let go of him. We remain best friends to this day.
