But they have several servers, so perhaps it's your bad luck for yours to go down today. It's happened to me before a few times.

and move out of Hotmail. If you know French, get yourself an account at mail.voila.fr. I've been a user for a while and have never had a problem with it, which is more than I can say for Hotmail, GMail or Yahoo.
