I feel like I need to wash my mouth out with soap now.

As my son and I were pulling into the driveway a little while ago, I complained about the fact that the pear tree is not blooming yet. I think it may be dead. My son said, "It's a good thing that tree is blooming."

"Which tree?" I asked. The only trees in the front yard are the unblooming pear tree and a juniper.

"That one," he answered, pointing to one of the lilacs.

"That's not a tree," I said. "The only trees are the pear and the juniper. The rest are shrubs."

"Shrubs?"

"Yes. That's a shrub."

"What's a shrub?"

"A bush," I answered.

At that point I was thinking, good grief! Isn't there a word I can use that DOESN'T remind me of Chimpy McLiarPants?

I'm feeling oddly dirty.

Or a bush. :shrug:





Oh, what a spectacular return of that baseline headache! :P

And quite tall, too!
