Man shot at firefighters who refused to rescue cat
KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - A man who shot at firefighters after they refused to get his cat out of a tree has been sentenced to five months in jail.

Jeffrey Francis Cullen, 59, of Kingman, was also ordered to be on intensive probation for five years as part of his sentence, handed down Friday by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Robert R. Moon.

The relatively light sentence did not sit well with the prosecutor.

"The state's position is that if it's the first time or the 20th time, prison is appropriate," prosecutor Lee Jantzen said.

5. That's why more people should learn about guns and preach less.
If people were adequately trained and educated in the proper handling and use of firearms, it wouldn't really matter if law-abiding citizens had guns, would it?

11. You created the first straw man.
If you polled the population and asked how many support arming firefighters, I don't think the numbers would break 10%.

I certainly have never encountered anyone with such an opinion, and I suspect you haven't either.

And frankly, a situation with an overly sensitive drunk with a gun does not make the greatest "pro-gun" argument.

Suuuure, I'm sure glad this drunk idiot's gun rights are more important to some than the safety of the firemen.

up a tree.

Although I do remember when I talking about my fears of this re: my cat some man said to me: "How many dead cats do you see at the bottom of trees?" So I re-thunk it and well...maybe they do get down by themselves. :shrug:
