32. I'll give this music thread one more boost
I heard the new CD by Bucky Covington. I always liked his personality and gravelly voice on AI, but here, bot enough of that comes through. There are some moments, like "American Friday Night" and "Carolina Blue," but there's too much moralizing and reminiscing. Some songs also sound like recycled honky tonk. I'd give this self-titled CD a C+.

And funny how even though the Avril CD isn't quite as good as her others, I think it will get just as much play. The CD is deliriously hooky and fun for the most part, even if too many lyrics are tongue and cheek and she didn't expand on either Let Go or Under My Skin.

"The Very Best of Toots and the Maytals" on CD on the headphones and singing along, in my own special sort of way.

I think my plumber thinks I'm nuts because I'm rocking-the-F-out and singing a very-punked-out "Monkeyman" at the top of my lungs. As far as Mike The Plumber knows, it's only a song from a commercial.

43. Blind Melon's album Soup
The song playing is called 'New Life'

Suddenly everything is fainting
Falling from a broken ladder's rung
There's a jolt exhilarating from the phone I'm holding
I hear the words of what I'll become
How eager the hands that reach for love
'Cause now there's a new life to behold
And its the biggest part of my life to unfold
'Cause now she's telling me she'll have my baby
And a faithful father I am to be
When I'm looking into the eyes of our own baby
Will it bring new life into me?
Deep inside must defy arrangement
I've been a stumblin' from the startin' blocks 'til now
And I'll always try to justify the way I've been behaving
Should I teach one not to know how?
How to live in a world we live in now
'Cause there's a beautiful life to behold
And its the biggest part of my life to unfold
'Cause now she's telling me she'll have my baby
And a father figure I am to be
When I'm looking into the eyes of our own baby
Will it bring new life into me?
Oh please
Bring new life
Bring new life into me
