So I've got an opportunity to go on a real vacation...
Something that hasn't happened in a very long time.

My girlfriend planned a family trip and her daughter can't go. So I've been invited to take the daughter's place.

The trip is paid for except a 2-day pass to the Magic Kingdom, and gratuities on the cruise ship. And spending money. I figure I'll need about $600 to comfortably cover the 2 week stint. I think I can manage it. When I don't have to buy groceries, or gasoline for a commute to work and back, plus what I have saved... I think I'm all set.

Here's the thing... now that I live alone, I'm worried about my cats. Not only will they need to be fed, but they're going to need some companionship too. And one of them needs daily medication for asthma. My son has a very bad track record for giving the cat her medicine.

I might be able to ask the JROTC commander to ask one of the older kids (maybe one w/ a car) to spend a couple of weeks at my house (they'd get community service for doing it and I could make a donation to the unit). The one cat that get medicine is skiddish, but I think if I started her getting used to someone now, she'd get her medicine and over a couple of weeks I know she would relax enough to let someone give her some luvvies.

How do I make this work?
