Today, we go to Ikea...Scouting trip. Weeeeee!
The man and I are going to journey to our local Ikea today (a beautiful 70 deg. sunny day, finally) and scout for items to fill our somewhat empty house. We have a coffee table and a Laz-y-Boy coming next weekend, but we want a new couch, a desk, an area rug, etc. And we need a new wall clock as well.

Trips to Ikea make me a happy grrl! :bounce:

:hi:

2. Our bed is from there...
And while I have repressed the memories of both buying it and assembling it, I do adore it so. It's a queen sized, with this hot occasional table that straddles the bed all the way over, on wheels... Think Breakfast in bed :D

I'll report back, most def. :patriot:

4. IKEA gives me the willies.
I do like the design of their products and the prices are good. I'm just not a warehouse shopper.
Have fun.

5. It's a bit of a sensory overload for me, but
I dig it otherwise. I just always feel like I'm trapped in a maze at this place...

6. Have fun - hope you find some good stuff!
We just put together a beautiful antique pine desk for me that we got at Ikea. I love the desk but shopping for it was painful! We went on a Sunday - big mistake - it seemed all of humanity was shopping there that day. And ALL moving in the same direction, because of the directed traffic flow they employ. It was WEIRD!

8. Pretty good store, I got a nice reading (floor) lamp there
But it has an incandescent (halogen) bulb, not CFL or LED. So don't tell the folks in GD about it, okay?

(Ikea model code word is "November" - they have strange words to name their products)

9. Be sure to visit the candy section, and try the cafeteria.
Daim Candies are addicting, and they have a really cool Ligenberry jelly.

The cafeterias are usually good. All those weird carnivores like the meatballs, but I like their torts, and their vegetables are usually good.

Yeah, yeah, you're supposed to be looking at furniture, but what's life without candy?

11. For tealight lovers, Pier1 also sells bags of 100 for $5
It saves me the trip to Ikea (and plenty of money) when all I really need are tealights.

12. Awesome tip, thanks!
Pier 1 is way closer to my house (and far less zooesque) than IKEA. :hi:

13. Did you move?
And can you get me two couches while you're there?

And a mattress too?

Thanks! :hi:

14. No, we did not
and that's all I'm sayin' about that... ;)

We tried out a bunch of couches, most were too firm....And while I love love love our bed, that Queen size circular bed is tempting. I found the desk I want, I'll buy it next month. We did finally get a new wall clock, and we have a bunch of "maybe" items to think about. Fun times :D
