How can I record streaming video?
I'm watching the streaming video of the Kennedy speech and I'd love to be able to record it. Does anyone know of a software package that will do this?

Thanks.

2. IIRC, it's pretty tough to record it...
...that's why they stream it, instead of making it downloadable.

I tried doing the same thing a couple of years ago, but to no avail. However, I bet you could find some shareware that might do the trick.

Try Googling "Shareware streaming video" and see what you get. GOOD LUCK!

3. Are you on a Mac or PC?

On a PC, there is a decent app (sort of odd interface) called CyberCam that can record video of streaming video. A bunch of different settings...

On a Mac, this one is pretty decent:

On edit:

You can record the streaming app window...make sure you have oodles of hard drive space and a zippy 'puter...video is a hard drive hog.

Try recording at 12fps (frames per second) and 22kHz/44.1 (sound) of a window no bigger than 320x240 pixels.

If it's a long speech, you could record the audio and burn an audio CD of it or make an MP3 if you have that software.

5. Thank you
I'm downloading something called Net Transport that I found. Here's a website that compares various capture software, and they highly recommend Net Transport, as it's supposed to work well and it's free.
