Breast Feeding Mom Scolded By (iParty) Store Manager

<snip>

(WBZ) BOSTON A Hingham woman claims she was scolded by the manager of an iParty in South Weymouth for breast-feeding in the store.

“He stood over me and said you can’t do that here,” Dr. Melissa Tracy told the Boston Herald. “I’ve never felt that badly before.”

Tracy said she decided to nurse her 2-month-old son Friday while shopping for her daughter's birthday party.

“Rather than let him become hysterical, I sat down on the floor and breast-fed him,” Tracy told the newspaper.

The Brockton cardiologist says she complained to management at iParty and received an apology.

iParty released a statement saying it regrets the incident and plans to include tolerance for breast-feeding in its managerial training.

If you really wanted to be bad, you'd post this in GD.

5. Oh dear...
I'm ever so tired of this idiocy.

They're just breasts. They have a non-sexual function. Contrary to what a lot of people think, it's their primary function. To feed young. It's not sexual. Why the f do people freak out about this? "Oh my gosh, my 5 year old might see a boob. Oh, won't you think of the children?"

Unless you bottle fed him/her from birth, (s)he seen a breast before. It's not a big deal. It's probably healthier than seeing some of the violent crap that I saw growing up.

8. Did she sit in the middle of the aisle, or off to the side
Off to the side is ok. But if she sits in the middle of the aisle and blocks traffic, that's rude. Unlike a cart, it's not easy to push a breast-feeding mother off to the side with one foot while pushing your cart past.

And if she's blocking access to the boxes of chicken breading or extra virgin olive oil, that's totally thoughtless.

I am SO going shopping!!! Where's the keys to my bigass SUV?!?

Whenever I see her on TV, I'm reminded that I need a better cleaver. Don't exactly know why. Does her line include any good cleavers?

13. AND cutlery
The cutlery is funny because her knife technique is atrocious. It's even worse than mine, but I don't have a TV cooking show!!!

I saw it at Linens 'n Things.

9. Glad to know that iParty is going to show tolerance for women
sitting on the floor in their stores to breastfeed because there is just so much room in their stores.:eyes:

I think this woman doesn't have much of an imagination if sitting on the floor was the best solution she could come up with.
